Agricultural College Mbuye
In May 2017, the St. Matthias Mbuye Agricultural Training Centre was renamed from the Mbuye Farm School to the St. Matthias Mbuye Agricultural College and has since become part of the Uganda Martyrs University. The institute offers the following diplomas: Diploma in animal production and farm management; Diploma in crop production and farm management; Diploma in ecological organic agriculture and the following national certificates: National certificate in agriculture; Certificate in poultry production.
400 young people attend the institute; 50% are young men, 50% young women. The school has 103 acres of land as direct school grounds and 690 acres in Mayanja. The agricultural students also work with the local population in the so-called "outreach programmes" and thus pass on their know-how to the rural population. ADEPT e.V. has been supporting the college since 2020.
2022 - 2024: Introduction of the "Student Training for Entrepreneurial Promotion" (STEP) programme to promote entrepreneurial skills among the trainees.
2020: Equipping the college with modern agricultural machinery from STIHL AG.
2020: Training on the new machines by STIHL AG employees.
