Senior Experten Service (SES)

The SES is a non-profit foundation of the German economy for international cooperation and the largest German voluntary and deplyment organisation for specialists and executives in retirement or on a career break. With currently around 12,000 retired senior experts, the SES has been providing sustainable support for the professional training, further education and qualification of specialists and managers in Germany and abroad since 1983. On a voluntary, motivated and committed basis and in the spirit of helping people to help themselves, the SES experts support small and medium-sized enterprises, public administrations, chambers of commerce and trade associations, social and medical institutions as well as training and further education institutions worldwide in solving acute problems. Africa is now the focus region of SES' foreign work. Between 2006 and 2016, more than 230 SES assignments took place in Uganda alone, primarily in the fields of health, education and vocational training, but also in the energy, agriculture, tourism, sport and media sectors.
